Sight Reading Stick Notation (drm sl with tika tika)
- This sight reading activity is written in "stick notation".
- "Stick notation" is commonly used in the Kodaly method of teaching, particularly in dictating music.
- In this context, it enables students to practise sight-reading melodic and rhythmic elements without having to read off the stave.
- Use this sheet to 1) choose an exercise to have the whole class sing or play 2) have individual students sing or play (for assessment purposes) 3) give students for homework!
