Waltzing Matilda (Eb Major)

  • "Waltzing Matilda" is one of Australia's most famous folk songs.
  • Can be used to prep & practise melodic elements high & low "ti" and prep, make conscious and practise "fa".
  • Largely taught through aural tradition, there are different versions of the rhythm for this song. This version has a number of "tim-kas" (dotted quaver, quaver). I hesitate to use this song for teaching this rhythm as students may know a different version.
  • Works well with modal transformation for older/advanced students.
